Microbiome and Gut Health

Posted on June 14, 2015 by Bio Man in Body Health, Mental Health No Comments

What makes a human healthy?  For as long as history has recorded illness, people have tried to figure out the underlying principle of disease.  It is more than just an academic thought, modern society is so obsessed with classifying diseases and sickness that they have forgotten the other side to life; healthiness.  The secret to robustness and vitality may quite literally lie deep inside our bowels; deep inside our microbiome and gut health.

Thank Gut Bacteria for Keeping You Alive and Healthy

Scientists now know that humans are made up of about 90% bacteria and 10% DNA material.  You have over a 100 trillion microbes inside you and outside of your body.  The previous paradigm of anti-bacterial everything has proven to be extremely detrimental  to our body’s delicate bio-ecology. The microbiota that resides in our guts and even on our skin helps provide robust health to humans.  This is done by providing immune homeostasis.

Homeostasis refers to keeping our bodies systems in balance. Examples of this are body temperature, Glucose levels for energy, calcium for PH balance and fluid volume.  If your homeostasis is out of balance then you will become susceptible to disease, infections, illnesses and even death.

The role that our microbiome plays in keeping us healthy is in its ability to be the workhorse of our body’s bio-ecology.  Microbiota has evolved over millions of years to provide digestion, production of nutrients, protection against foreign micro-organisms, parasites and detoxification.

Vaccine Deaths, Autism and the Gut Health Connection

Something strange is happening in the world of vaccines today.  More and more people are questioning the effectiveness and safety of vaccines after the predicted global “Bird Flu” outbreak fizzled.  Billions of tax dollars were spent anticipating a major global epidemic and yet the number of casualties numbered in the few hundreds at most (since 1996).

Add to the fact that a court in Italy did a partial ban of a batch of vaccines in Italy after 13 children died. But was let off the hook shortly after selling out to GlaxoKlineSmith.  In addition a CDC whistleblower testified that there was hard data linking Thimerosal (mercury) in vaccines to autism, non-organic sleep disorders, and speech disorders.  And yet no main stream media network covered this explosive revelation.  For an overview of this controversy I recommend viewing this youtube clip by clicking here.

In the 21’st century it is only now that independent discoveries into the significance of microbiota has revealed just how damaging vaccines, antibiotics and artificial sugars can inflict on our neurology and immunity. Though of course you will not hear about this from the mainstream media or the extremely powerful pharmaceuticals.

British Neurologist Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride believes the increasing rates of autism afflicting children today is due to overwhelming toxicity in our diet, medicines and environment.  This results in a wholesale genocide of the beneficial gut flora in our bodies which can then lead to electrical and chemical imbalances in our physiology (homeostasis).  As Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride describes succinctly:

“What happens in these children [is that] they do not develop normal gut flora from birth…” she says. “Gut flora is a hugely important part of our human physiology. Recently research in Scandinavia has demonstrated that 90 percent of all cells and all genetic material in a human body is our own gut flora. We are just a shell… a habitat for this mass of microbes inside us. We ignore them at our own peril.

…As a result, their digestive system — instead of being a source of nourishment for these children — becomes a major source of toxicity. These pathogenic microbes inside their digestive tract damage the integrity of the gut wall. So all sort of toxins and microbes flood into the bloodstream of the child, and get into the brain of the child. That usually happens in the second year of life in children who were breast-fed because breastfeeding provides a protection against this abnormal gut flora. In children who were not breastfed, I see the symptoms of autism developing in the first year of life.

So breastfeeding is crucial to protect these children.”

Gut Health is literally the Core of Our Health and Being

Far from something that should be completely sterilized, bacteria in its many forms is something which plays a critical part of our make up (up to 90%).  To foolishly categorize all bacteria as something to be eliminated or taken for granted is something which will put all of humanity in perpetual illness, disease and misery.

Brain Booster Review: Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri

Posted on May 10, 2015 by Bio Man in Brain Boosters, Mental Health, Product Reviews No Comments

In this second Brain Booster Review I will be reviewing Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri.  Bacopa is also known as “Brahmi” or the “herb of grace”.  Renowed for it’s calming and cognitive benefits.

Imagine being assigned a very complicated task for a subject.  Any deviation in your thought processes and your potential understanding will disappear like sand blown away by the wind.  In real world scenarios this could be an exam, very intense lectures, a major presentation to your boss and VP’s.  Or even your relationships with your significant other or family.

One thing that is constantly overlooked in cognitive enhancement is clarity of thought.  I consider this separate from focus in that you could focus all you want but your thinking is still muddy or cloudy. I think of it akin to shining a 1000 watt bulb through a muddy pane of glass.  Sure you are thinking hard, but not much coherent enlightenment is getting through to your mind.

Essentially you are expending mental energy with very little impression whatsoever.  But what if there is a brain supplement which upon taking will drastically improve mental clarity?  Such supplements do exist and one which I am going to discuss is innovite’s Bacopa brain supplement.

Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri Gives You Mental Clarity

Bacopa Monnieri is especially useful if you suffer from anxiety attacks or where your mind is cloudy.  I’ve used Innovite’s Bacopa supplement to help me get through periods of severe anxiety attacks.  It is especially useful if you need an edge during a presentation or if you are engaged in mentally intensive work.  As Innovite’s Bacopa will help calm and clear your mind.  But as always please consult your doctor before using any Nootropics.

The Side Effects of Bacopa Monnieri

The side effects of Bacopa Monnieri are well-known, in particular you should take Bacopa with some food.  There is also the chance you may experience headaches and/or experience diarrhea.  Also it is documented that over using Bacopa can lead to internal Hemorrhaging.  So it is recommended that you follow the recommended daily dosages.

So what is Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri Made of?

The ingredients of Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri are as follows:

  • Bacopa Monnieri 150 mg
  • Bacoside 7.5 mg
  • Bacopaside I 10.2 mg
  • Bacopaside II 9.3 mg
  • Bacopasaponin C 6.8 mg
  • Jujubogenin isomer of Bacopasaponin C 10.1 mg
  • Bacosine 2.25 mg
  • Apigenin 0.4 mg
  • Luteolin 0.75 mg
  • Beta-sitosterol-D-glucoside 0.5 mg

Bacopa Monnieri has been linked to improving memory retention and reducing anxiety

Bacoside, Bacopaside I, Bacopaside II, Bacopasaponin, Bacopasaponin C, Jujubogenin isomer of Bacopasaponin C are a class of chemical compounds derived from Bacopa Monnieri known to enhance neuro protectivity and decrease oxidation in the brain.

Bacosine no info found for this ingredient, probably another chemical derivative of Bacopa Monnieri.

Apigenin has been linked to reducing anxiety and spurring sedation.

Luteolin has been linked to providing antioxidant benefits and preventing certain age related illnesses.

Beta-sitosterol-D-glucoside has been linked to reducing benign tumors and reducing chlorestoral levels.

My opinion is that if you are the type to experience cloudy thinking or incoherent thoughts.  Innovite’s Bacopa supplement may be just the right supplement you need for clearer thinking.  You should also consult your doctor in case of any innate medical issues or if you are taking any medications.

ADHD, anxiety, Bacopa, Bacopa monnieri, brain fog, calming, clear thinking, focus, improve memory, innovite, insight, reduce anxiety

Best Supplements for Overall Health

Posted on May 4, 2015 by Bio Man in Body Health, Product Reviews No Comments

Take your life back. Take it back from all the potential diseases, stress, lethargy and other symptoms preventing you from living life to the fullest.  This article is a guide from which you can choose (or not choose) the best supplements with which to help regenerate and heal your body.

There’s some funny memes going around which show how much value modern people place on the superficial. There’s a man in Brazil who has paid a fortune in plastic surgery to get fake biceps. There’s also the numerous photos of rednecks posting pictures of their home-made car spoiler’s.  Apparently to those particular people not only does it make the car look sporty but it also makes it faster . . . somehow.

The point about the two stories above is that modern society itself has a somewhat analogous superficial view of nutrition. Take for example the media’s lambasting of vitamins and minerals supplements. Not only did they proclaim that they were useless in preventing disease, but they also claimed everyone should stop taking them!

Upon closer investigation of the their studies, a number of significant flaws were found. I will not go too in-depth in their analyses here but needless to say I still prefer vitamins to pharmaceutical drugs.

One study has shown that “Over 60 billion doses of vitamin and mineral supplements per year in the USA, and not a single fatality. Not one.”  Now compare that statement with pharmaceutical drugs and vaccines.  I encourage you to do your own research and come up with your own conclusions.

Needless to say this article is pro-vitamins and from my own knowledge and personal experience I think that vitamins are critical to maintaining a healthy body.  I also believe that if one wants to achieve peak mental and physical conditioning they need to look at the body as a whole.

Whether your goal is for beauty, strength or razor-sharp mental faculties it is critical your perspective be holistic.

Without further ado let me list the top 5 best supplements which I believe will be beneficial to your health.

  1. Vitamin Code Multivitamin (for men or women)
  2. Whole Earth & Sea  Multivitamin (for men or women)
  3. MegaFood  Multivitamin (for men or women)
  4. Vitamin Code Liquid Multivitamin
  5. NAKA: Vital Greens

Best Supplements: Vitamin Code

I’ve used Garden of Life’s Vitamin Code products for quite a few years.  They use top quality, non-gmo, dairy free, gluten-free, raw ingredients.  And use a potent form of probiotics and enzymes to help give you maximum absorption of micronutrients and vitamins.  Be forewarned though you should take their potent supplements with food!

Best Supplements: Whole Earth & Sea

Whole Earth & Sea appears to be a subsidiary of Natural Factors.  Now I don’t favour Natural Factors products as much, as their products can sometimes be questionable in terms of ingredients and potency. But I do have to give Natural Factors props for bringing up their A-game with the Whole Earth & Sea products line.

The multivitamins I have been using so far (for men), have proven to be exceptional.  The ingredients are non-gmo, yeast free, dairy free, gluten-free, free of animal products and suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians.

Best Supplements: MegaFood

A popular favourite among the Vegan and Vegetarian crowds, MegaFood’s product lines have a big following in North America.  Using non-gmo, Vegan friendly, Vegetarian friendly, dairy free, soy free and Kosher friendly.

If you have any food sensitivities or allergies MegaFood’s product lines are probably your best bet to supplement your staple diet.  As this will ensure your body is getting the vitamins and minerals your body needs.

Best Supplements: Vitamin Code Liquid Multivitamin

I’ve added Vitamin Code Liquid Multivitamin because it’s been proven over and over again that liquid vitamins are superior to tablets.  Liquid vitamins have a proven absorption rate of up to 95%.  Now add top quality ingredients from a reputable company like Garden of Life and you now have a potent liquid multi-vitamin.

Not to mention Vitamin Code Liquid Multivitamin is also non-gmo, gluten-free, dairy free, Vegetarian friendly.

Best Supplements: NAKA: Vital Greens

I have used Vital Greens in my smoothies and one thing for sure, don’t take it too late at night.  Or else you’ll be in bed feeling like you need to do a 100 push ups to try to make yourself tired.  Vital Greens is gmo free and boasts an array of vegetable juice and superfood complexes in its ingredients.

Well there you have it, some of the best multivitamins out there to help maintain, heal and regenerate your body.

Anti Aging Smoothie Recipe: Boost Your Immunity

Posted on April 26, 2015 by Bio Man in Body Health, Tasty Healthy Foods No Comments

Often times people will go to their favourite shop to get a smoothie. They’ll order the smoothie which has some fruit or maybe some chia seeds in their hope that they are eating healthy.  This article will take the guesswork out of making your very own anti aging smoothie recipe.

As this article will show you step by step, ingredient by ingredient an anti aging smoothie recipe: which will revitalize your body, detox your system, hydrate your body, put a load of anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals in your body and boost your immune system. This smoothie is also good for people looking to lose weight or manage their weight effectively.

The modern age in its current form has given us many options in terms of food and drink. But we don’t often realize that those same foods can be an addictive poison.  The consequences of which can end up destroying our bodies and minds.

My hope is that this super food recipe will become part of your staple diet. Avoiding carbonated beverages and sodas which can damage your teeth and your health. Making this smoothie as part of your staple diet can and will definitely increase your energy and stamina levels.

Anti Aging Smoothie Recipe: Ingredients

  1. Moringa Oleifera
  2. Almond milk (organic)
  3. Organic white honey (optional)
  4. Spring water or filtered mineralized alkaline water
  5. Black seed oil (optional)
  6. Genuine Health Vegan Proteins+ (Vanilla)

Anti Aging Smoothie Recipe:  Directions

First get yourself a decent blender, I got myself an inexpensive 8 speed blender on sale from a company called “Oster“.  Now let’s begin.

  1. Fill the blender jug with almond milk up to the 2 cups mark
  2. Add spring water or mineralized water till you reach the 3 cups mark
  3. Add 2 full teaspoons of Moringa Oleifera
  4. Set the blender to low and blend for 30 seconds on liquefy and set 10 seconds on smoothie
  5. Add half a teaspoon of honey to the blender, set the settings to smoothie and blend high for 2o seconds
  6. Add 2 scoops of Vegan Proteins+ and one teaspoon black seed oil (optional), add water up to the 6 cups mark, set the blender to liquefy, low and blend for 20 seconds.  Then switch to settings smoothie, high and blend for 30 settings.
  7. Taste the smoothie now, if you need more sweetness you can add another half teaspoon of honey.

Anti Aging Smoothie Recipe: Boost Your Immunity
4.4 Overall
Pros

Excellent smoothie for building up your body with essential vitamins and minerals. Tastes tasty due to the Vegans+ and Honey (otional). Also has anti-parasitic and anti-toxin attributes. A excellent "baseline smoothie" to make as part of your staple diet for weight loss or weight management.

Cons

If you have high levels of toxins in your system, you may experience stomach pangs due to the Moringa. This can be easily resolved by simply taking a fraction of what you took before. Having to clean the blender regularly once the smoothie is all gone is also a bit of a chore.

Summary

This smoothie is what I call my "baseline smoothie" in terms of improving energy, stamina and mental functions. Immediately after ingestion, I feel more energetic, my thoughts are more clear and I feel more motivated to "do stuff". Please note that if you have high levels of toxicity, heavy metals or otherwise you will get stomach pangs. As the Moringa is binding to the toxins and trying to flush them out of your system. If you experience such stomach pangs I recommend starting with 1/4 of the Moringa in your smoothie. I also recommend reading my previous article on Moringa Oleifera to get a overview of it's health benefits and side effects.

Brain Booster Review: CILTEP

Posted on April 20, 2015 by Bio Man in Brain Boosters, Mental Health, Product Reviews No Comments

A natural brain booster (Nootropic stack) from the company Natural Stacks called “CILTEP“.  CILTEP stands for (Chemically Induced Long Term Potentiation).  LTP is the mechanism by which your brain forms memories by creating connections between neurons.  I’ve had the pleasure of purchasing CILTEP  for this review.  Shipment was relatively fast, it arrived in my mailbox in about 5 days.  I’ve been using CILTEP Nootropic stack on and off for over 4 months now.  I’ve often tried it at both at work and at home.

My reasons for purchasing CILTEP are two-fold, one I needed a ready-made “Nootropic Stack”.  Two I was looking for a Nootropic Stack to help me focus and get my butt in gear to get work done.  If you are not familiar with brain boosting Nootropics, then I suggest you read this previous Nootropic article.

The directions for using CILTEP are as follows: 2-3 capsules immediately upon waking on an empty stomach.  This review will cover scenarios where I’ve taken CILTEP on an empty stomach and after a meal to gauge effectiveness and also at different times throughout the day.

Does CILTEP Actually Work?

As I’ve stated before I was looking for a Nootropic to help me overcome mental inertia and increase motivation.  The good news is that CILTEP actually does work, but the effectiveness of it may actually be too subtle for some people.  It doesn’t cause an explosive high or instantly raise your IQ to unify Quantum Physics and Relativity.

It’s effect is more like a rolling snowball, where at first it starts out small, almost unnoticeable, followed by an hour or two later of you working away like a driven race horse.  If there was one sentence with which to describe CILTEP, it would be that ” it makes mental inertia easier to overcome”.  Once you get going, you get moving with this Nootropic.  If you have problems with procrastination I’d recommend CILTEP to help jump-start your motivation.

How Effective is CILTEP?

To get the full power of CILTEP it really is recommended that you take it on an empty stomach.  The days when I’ve taken CILTEP with food I’ve noticed a marked increase in the ramp up time to get motivated (more than 2 hours).  On the days that I have taken CILTEP on an empty stomach, it’s effectiveness was quicker to take effect (about 1 hour) and it seemed more potent.  Your mileage may vary depending on metabolism, internal toxicity levels and diet etc.

Is CILTEP Safe To Take?

I’ve been taking CILTEP for approximately 4 months now and I have not experienced any crashes or negative effects with this product.  But as always consult with your doctor before taking any Nootropics, especially if you are on any medication.

So What is CILTEP Made Of?

Another reason I’m such a fan of CILTEP is that it is one of those rare Nootropics that is all natural. Meaning in the genuine sense it is non-GMO, Gluten free, no artificial colours and no preservatives. The ingredients list of CILTEP is of at the time of this writing is as follows:

  • Vitamin B6 5mg
  • Artichoke Extract 900mg
  • Coleus Forskohlii (Root extract) 20 mg
  • L-Phenylalanine
  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Going through each of these ingredients top to bottom:

The Vitamin B6 has been linked to slowing down cognitive degeneration and preventing heart disease.

Artichoke has been linked to fluid intelligence and the ability to reason effortlessly.  Understanding complicated concepts has also been related to Artichoke use.

Forskolin has been linked to promoting weight loss and increasing memory formation and retention.

Phenylalanine has been linked to increasing motivation, focus and high level thinking.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine has been linked to increasing mental stamina, energy and focus.  It is also known to be a good anti-oxidant for the brain.

If you are just starting to explore the world of Nootropics and are looking for a good introductory Nootropic stack.  I don’t think you can wrong with CILTEP from Natural Stacks.

Brain Booster Review: CILTEP
4.2 35
Pros

No negative side effects with long term use. Helps to get you into the zone.
No "crashes" or "anxiety" effects as with other popular Nootropics.
Long term use is culmalative and beneficial to the brain and it also
uses all natural ingredients.

Cons

Takes a while to feel the effects. The effects can be a little too subtle for some. If taken with food its potency will be drasticly reduced. It is also
fairly expensive and can only be bought online.

Summary

A solid Nootropic stack if you are just starting out. It is safe with all natural ingredients, with no noticable side effects.

Boost Brain Power with Nootropics

Posted on April 11, 2015 by Bio Man in Brain Boosters, Mental Health 1 Comment

Are there supplements which can boost brain power? As a matter of fact yes, there are nutrients, artificial drugs and natural herbs which can improve memory, protect against dementia and even spur brain tissue growth!

Your Brain and Limitless Possibilities

In the movie “Limitless”, Bradley Cooper’s character Eddy Morra comes into possession of the Nootropic drug NZT-48.  After ingesting the drug, Eddy experiences a significant boost in brain power.  Experiencing 100% perfect recall, focus and comprehension.  The movie explores how the drug totally transforms Eddy’s confidence and lifestyle, and also includes battling a rival russian gangster whom also gets his hand’s on some NZT-48.

Now as far as reality is concerned there is no drug out there which can match the capabilities of the fictional drug NZT-48.  But there are prescription drugs e.g. Adderall and Modafinil which many users (many University students and ADHD users) who swear these drugs can give you almost Zen like concentration levels.

Nootropics and BioHacking

Now the thing about brain enhancements (Nootropics) is that it is both an art and science. The whole subject of Nootropics itself can be considered a sub topic under “BioHacking”. Seeing the human body itself as a complicated living nano-biological machine, this places the whole human race on a wide spectrum of health and vitality.

This broad spectrum of health and vitality also encompasses sickness and disease which unfortunately can have unforseen consequences as to the effectiveness of Nootropic supplements.  One person’s brain boosting supplement may prove to be a dud for another person.  Or worst case, the other person cannot properly metabolize the supplement and ends up with liver damage (e.g. Modafinil).

Fortunately for most of us taking a good brain boosting supplement does not have to be a risky affair. Reputable brand names and transparency of the ingredients minimizes those risks.

Boost Nootropic Effectiveness by “Stacking”

To get around the issue of ineffective Nootropic supplements, it has been discovered that mixing various ingredients or whole supplements in specific ratios considerably boosts the effective attributes of those individual components (Stacking).  For example someone may take some Aniracetam along with some GABA and Bacopa monnieri to reduce stress and anxiety but also drastically increase focus and memory retention for studying.

Now the topic of “stacking” can be more than just mixing Nootropic ingredients around. Some people have turned it into a precise science and know exactly how much, when and what to eat with the stack to get near full effectiveness.  Indeed, the topic of stacking can be both art and science depending on the thoroughness and discipline of the user.

Your State of Health Determines How Effective Nootropics Are

One thing that I have seen being overlooked consistently is the overall state of the person’s health.  Now just think about it for a moment, if someone has liver damage, brain damage or has problems absorbing nutrients from food.  How effective do you think ingesting a Nootropic supplement will be?  Being honest about your health and any other alcohol or prescriptions that you use will go a long way in determining how best to take a Nootropic.

Some 1 star reviews on Amazon.com for various Nootropic supplements may actually be due to poor nutrient absorption or high toxicity levels in the customers.  Of course this is hard to prove but something to keep in mind when researching which Nootropic to take via reviews.

Control Your Mind or Something Else Will

Posted on March 31, 2015 by Bio Man in Mental Health, Uncategorized 2 Comments

There is a silent war going on, and you are in the middle of it.  Various actors are involved; some human, some non-human.  As a matter of fact the rules of this war has no bounds.  This war deems you both civilian and soldier, enemy and potential ally.  The fruits of this war is nothing less than absolute control of your mind.

Fungi and Mind Control

There is a fungi in Thailand that once it infects an ant, takes over its nervous system and essentially steers the ant (Zombified Ant) to where it eventually dies and the fungi can spread.  Scientists to this day are “baffled” as to how this is even possible.

Now you may be wondering what any of this has to do with you or mind control in general.  But as I write later on, there is strong evidence that even humans are not immune to fungi and parasitic infections which can literally alter your behaviour.  This can especially be true if your body is immunity compromised or your body is experiencing toxic/parasitic overload.

Candida overgrowth, mental disease and the North American diet

North America in its current state is a land of abundance and excess.  North Americans are especially proud of the excesses even when it’s to their own detriment.  For example there is a restaurant in Nevada which sells a single burger that has over 9,980 calories!  The average healthy adult male needs around only 2000 calories daily!  Incredulously the burger is named the “Heart Attack Burger”.

Now the thing about the North American diet is that not only do they eat a lot but they also eat very acidic foods.  Most of these foods are also easily accessible, highly processed and nutrient deficient.  Now if you add up the fact that we live in a highly polluted, toxic heavy metal environment, you have the recipe for internal fungi overgrowth.

Candida is a type of yeast which resides in our guts.  It’s role in our health is to help us digest food and maintain a delicate ecology in our guts.  But due to the highly processed, sugary nature of the North American diet, this delicate gut ecology can be disrupted, leading to a overgrowth of the Candida.  Candida over growth has been blamed for everything from bipolar disorders to depression.

Candida life cycle:  From yeast to fungus to spores in your body?

Once Candida overgrowth begins, strange things begin to happen.  The PH of your body in general starts to become more acidic, yet your gastrointestinal system has trouble breaking down food (less acid).  As you continue to eat more processed sugary foods, the Candida begins to grow and grow.  Till it starts literally looking like some sort of white fungal mold inside your intestinal walls.

This mold has tendrils (or roots?) which can burrow through your intestinal wall.  This is the cause for most cases of “Leaky Gut Syndrome”.  Conventional medicine is still at a loss as to what causes it in the first place.

Candida Albican mind control:  Addiction to junk food and sweets?

Once the human gut is compromised, spores from the fungal mold begin entering your bloodstream.  Now the point I am trying to make about Candida is that some scientists are of the opinion that Candida Albican can subtly hijack your nervous system.  For example tweaking your body in such a way that you just have to binge on something sweet everyday or you cannot function (habitual feedback loop).

This is especially true for many people trying to lose weight.  It seems that no matter how hard they try they just don’t seem to have the will power to stop eating junk food.  From my own personal research I am of the opinion that not only does Candida Albican make a person addicted to sweets.  Candida Albican infestation can also hijack your taste buds to make you hate nutritious, alkaline forming foods!

I believe this is actually a natural defense mechanism (by Candida Albican) to make it extremely hard for people to form new habits to eat herbs, clays and vegetables which can kill the Candida.  Fasting by the way does NOT kill Candida Albican, as the Candida will simply feed off of the nutrients and minerals in your body.  Essentially while it (the spores) feeds off you, your body and brain starves.  This makes it doubly hard to eat right and think straight once the fast is over.

The all too human forces which can control your mind

On the other end of the mind control spectrum there are humans who are the center of social influence.  They start the fads, trends, stereotypes and propaganda.  They usually have powerful hidden backers which propagate and enforce their influence.  Think of Presidents, celebrities and sport athletes.  The trends or ideas which become “mainstream” do not happen by accident.

The ideas and symbols created to infect your mind

Hollywood is something of an idea generator.  Those ideas have had such an influence on Western society that it’s created an ecology of idea viruses (memes).  The DNA of those mind viruses are based on myths, stereotypes and archetypes to feed the emotional egocentric vacuum of popular culture.  For over 100 years, Hollywood has created movies and tv shows which have programmed people’s minds as to how people, cultures and even reality itself should behave.

Through a combination of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), NSP (Neuro Symbolic Programming) and a dysfunctional education system, the convergence between the explicit and the occult have literally brainwashed and dumbed down modern society.  The result of this brainwashing is quite apparent; people who are more proactive in keeping tabs on the Kardashians then they are about the trillions of dollars unaccounted for by their own government.

The result of a society that is more invested in buffoonery and trivial, superficial matters is a society ripe for plundering at both the physical, spiritual and mental level.

Despite all these internal and external mind control factors, there are tools you can use to take back control of your mind.

Take back your mind through a physical detox

We are constantly exposed to heavy metals and toxins due to air pollution, food pollution and water pollution.  Over time this wears down our bodies immunity making us susceptible to parasites and disease.  In the case of Candida Albican the effects on our mind is well documented, everything from depression, to lethargy and even a lowered IQ can result.

There are specialized herbs and supplements designed to eradicate Candida as you need a 3 point punch to:

  1. Kill spores in your blood stream and organs
  2. Kill the fungus overgrowth in your gut
  3. Repair your leaky gut and alkalinize your body

Control your mind through mindfulness and questioning

I think it’s fair to say that the North American education system is outdated, outmoded and a serious disappointment.  It was not always like that though, in the past students were required to master the Trivium (Logic, Grammar and Rhetoric).  It was akin to the Scientific method but it’s applications were applicable to all spheres of life.  It was a way of critical thinking which acted as a way to enhance your questioning, reasoning and deductive abilities.  Learning the Trivium I believe is a critical tool in navigating these confusing times.

I was just reading an article earlier today about MIT scientist: Dr. Stephanie Seneff.  She proclaims that in the next 10 years half of all children born will fall into the autistic spectrum.

Let that last sentence sink in for a moment. Right now, Autism is occurring at a rate of 1 in 68 children born today.  Up from 1 in 10,000 in the 1980’s,  clearly something has drastically changed from that time on to now.

Gut Bacteria and The Link to Your Brain

The saying “food for thought” may be more profound than one realizes.  With the Standard North American Diet (S.A.D) our very biology is fighting a losing battle with processed foods, pesticides, mineral and nutrient deficient food.  This in turn has lead to a generation afflicted with ailments that our ancestors did not have to deal with.  IBS, Crohn’s disease, gluten allergies  and leaky guts the list goes on and on.

With the constant exposure to such a wide variety of toxins is it such a surprise why many of us have allergies?  For some of us those allergies can be deadly.  It’s been stated that up to 70% of our immune system is located in our gut.  The very same gut we have been sterilizing and bombarding with antibiotics, artificial sugars, alcohol and debilitating stress.

With that in mind, I’d like to refer to some research which states that many of the chemicals with which we associate with just the brain can actually be found in our guts.  Neurochemicals such as GABA, serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine, acetylcholine and melatonin which the brain uses to regulate its neurochemistry.

The True Source of Many Mental Illnesses?

Now is it any wonder that when people are suffering from severe mental health issues? e.g. Bipolar, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s. Could the main cause and source of these diseases simply be a chemical deficiency or severe imbalance in the patient’s gut microbiome? Such a diagnosis would require a complete paradigm shift in how we view the connections between mind, brain and body.

Modern medicine has run on the philosophy that the mental function and bodily function are two separate physiological systems with little overlap, but as the research is showing the gut can have an effect on the brain and the brain can have an effect on the gut.  The mind and body are not totally separate but are in fact part of a sophisticated holistic feedback loop.  If body is compromised then our mental health will be affected too.

When you think about it, maybe our ancestors were on to something when they referred to our gut’s as the “Second Brain”.

10 Reasons You Are Depressed All The Time

Posted on March 28, 2015 by Bio Man in Emotional Health, Mental Health 3 Comments

As I write this article, I think of all the times my moods and motivations waxed and wane depending on the seasons.  Everybody at some point in their life has been depressed.  But the point of this article is discovering the causes of that depression and rectifying it.

Here in North America a mental disorder known as S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) affects some 15% of the North American population.  On my continuing journey to optimal health and wellness, I’ve discovered that the human mind and body feed off of each other.

Many times a sick mind through thought alone can create mysterious ailments in the body.  And a sick body can create a depressed or compromised mind unless you have an extraordinarily disciplined or strong mind.

So without further ado here the top 10 reasons why you are depressed all the time:

  1. You are not getting enough sleep  (I am guilty of this myself)
  2. You eat slop so therefore you will feel like slop
  3. Your body is iodine deficient
  4. Your body is vitamin D3 deficient
  5. You are being sucked dry by negative people (walking mental mosquitoes)
  6. You are watching way too much tv
  7. You are too overstressed
  8. Your body is lacking in magnesium
  9. You have lost your inner purpose or sense of direction
  10. You keep hanging onto the past while worrying about the future while losing     focus on the present

Do any of these top 10 items ring a bell?  I’d like to hear your thoughts, comments below are welcome.

Moringa Oleifera, a SuperFood to Heal Your Body

Posted on March 28, 2015 by Bio Man in Body Health, Tasty Healthy Foods 1 Comment

What if there is a super food plant created by nature which is full of anti-oxidants, nutrients, proteins and essential amino acids.

What if I told you that this “super plant” has been used for everything from killing parasites, to treating headaches, to treating malnourishment for children in 3rd world countries.

Sound too good to be true?  Fortunately, nature doesn’t care about what sounds “too good” or “too bad”, nature is about balance.

The Medicinal Bounty of the “Drumstick Tree” (Moringa Oleifera)

Different parts of Moringa Oleifera can be used to treat a whole slew of ailments.  These include body aches, arthritis, upset stomach and diarrhea, skin infections, tooth infections the list just goes on and on.

Used Extensively by Ayurvedic and Siddha Medicine

Moringa Oleifera has been used by the Ayurvedic and Siddha medicine for thousands of years.  Western medicine is just beginning to accept the full scope and power of this super plant.  Here is a list of just some of the medicinal powers this plant has in terms of treating various ailments:

 Moringa Leaves

  • stops shallow bleeding
  • Fights bacterial or fungal skin infections
  • iron content can be prescribed to fight anemia
  • used to treat diarrhea
  • to treat eye, ear and mucous membrane inflammation
  • can treat gastric ulcers
  • can treat headaches

Moringa Flowers

  • can enhance mother’s breast milk
  • can treat urinary problems

Moringa Pods

  • used to kill intestinal parasitic worm infections
  • can treat liver and spleen issues
  • can treat arthritis

Moringa Oil

  • used to treat hysteria
  • can treat scurvy
  • prostate problems and bladder problems

The Ayurvedic medicine in India has a practical use for every single part of the Moringa plant.  Everything from aiding in childbirth to antibiotics.

My personal experience with Moringa Oleifera

As a vegetarian, I always have to be mindful that I am taking the appropriate amount of proteins, vitamins and minerals daily.  Moringa Oleifera is the super food I use to help ensure I am ingesting what my body needs daily.  The first time I took some Moringa Oleifera (powdered form), it was with my protein smoothie, 30 minutes after ingestion I had some sharp stomach pains and had to use the bathroom.  Curious as to why I reacted this way, I did some research, turns out that what I experienced is not uncommon.  The stomach pains were akin to a symptom of a Herxheimer detox reaction.

You see Moringa is more than just a nutritious super food plant, it is also a powerful detoxifier for removing toxins and metals out of the human body.  So what I experienced was simply the Moringa supplement doing its job of removing toxins and harmful metals out of my body (probably heavy metals).  On my future consumption of Moringa powder I simply took half the amount and I no longer experienced any strong detox reactions.  Your reactions may vary due to your own state of health and internal toxicity.

You No Longer Have an Excuse to be Passive About Disease

With the above information, my hope is that you will at least consider Moringa Oleifera as part of your staple diet.  Even if you are perfectly healthy it will help maintain or even possibly enhance your health.  If you are not healthy or are suffering from an ailment, then Moringa Oleifera may be just what you need to boost your immune system and help detox your system.
