Brain Booster Review: Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri

Posted on May 10, 2015 by Bio Man in Brain Boosters, Mental Health, Product Reviews No Comments

In this second Brain Booster Review I will be reviewing Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri.  Bacopa is also known as “Brahmi” or the “herb of grace”.  Renowed for it’s calming and cognitive benefits.

Imagine being assigned a very complicated task for a subject.  Any deviation in your thought processes and your potential understanding will disappear like sand blown away by the wind.  In real world scenarios this could be an exam, very intense lectures, a major presentation to your boss and VP’s.  Or even your relationships with your significant other or family.

One thing that is constantly overlooked in cognitive enhancement is clarity of thought.  I consider this separate from focus in that you could focus all you want but your thinking is still muddy or cloudy. I think of it akin to shining a 1000 watt bulb through a muddy pane of glass.  Sure you are thinking hard, but not much coherent enlightenment is getting through to your mind.

Essentially you are expending mental energy with very little impression whatsoever.  But what if there is a brain supplement which upon taking will drastically improve mental clarity?  Such supplements do exist and one which I am going to discuss is innovite’s Bacopa brain supplement.

Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri Gives You Mental Clarity

Bacopa Monnieri is especially useful if you suffer from anxiety attacks or where your mind is cloudy.  I’ve used Innovite’s Bacopa supplement to help me get through periods of severe anxiety attacks.  It is especially useful if you need an edge during a presentation or if you are engaged in mentally intensive work.  As Innovite’s Bacopa will help calm and clear your mind.  But as always please consult your doctor before using any Nootropics.

The Side Effects of Bacopa Monnieri

The side effects of Bacopa Monnieri are well-known, in particular you should take Bacopa with some food.  There is also the chance you may experience headaches and/or experience diarrhea.  Also it is documented that over using Bacopa can lead to internal Hemorrhaging.  So it is recommended that you follow the recommended daily dosages.

So what is Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri Made of?

The ingredients of Innovite’s Bacopa Monnieri are as follows:

  • Bacopa Monnieri 150 mg
  • Bacoside 7.5 mg
  • Bacopaside I 10.2 mg
  • Bacopaside II 9.3 mg
  • Bacopasaponin C 6.8 mg
  • Jujubogenin isomer of Bacopasaponin C 10.1 mg
  • Bacosine 2.25 mg
  • Apigenin 0.4 mg
  • Luteolin 0.75 mg
  • Beta-sitosterol-D-glucoside 0.5 mg

Bacopa Monnieri has been linked to improving memory retention and reducing anxiety

Bacoside, Bacopaside I, Bacopaside II, Bacopasaponin, Bacopasaponin C, Jujubogenin isomer of Bacopasaponin C are a class of chemical compounds derived from Bacopa Monnieri known to enhance neuro protectivity and decrease oxidation in the brain.

Bacosine no info found for this ingredient, probably another chemical derivative of Bacopa Monnieri.

Apigenin has been linked to reducing anxiety and spurring sedation.

Luteolin has been linked to providing antioxidant benefits and preventing certain age related illnesses.

Beta-sitosterol-D-glucoside has been linked to reducing benign tumors and reducing chlorestoral levels.

My opinion is that if you are the type to experience cloudy thinking or incoherent thoughts.  Innovite’s Bacopa supplement may be just the right supplement you need for clearer thinking.  You should also consult your doctor in case of any innate medical issues or if you are taking any medications.

Brain Booster Review: CILTEP

Posted on April 20, 2015 by Bio Man in Brain Boosters, Mental Health, Product Reviews No Comments

A natural brain booster (Nootropic stack) from the company Natural Stacks called “CILTEP“.  CILTEP stands for (Chemically Induced Long Term Potentiation).  LTP is the mechanism by which your brain forms memories by creating connections between neurons.  I’ve had the pleasure of purchasing CILTEP  for this review.  Shipment was relatively fast, it arrived in my mailbox in about 5 days.  I’ve been using CILTEP Nootropic stack on and off for over 4 months now.  I’ve often tried it at both at work and at home.

My reasons for purchasing CILTEP are two-fold, one I needed a ready-made “Nootropic Stack”.  Two I was looking for a Nootropic Stack to help me focus and get my butt in gear to get work done.  If you are not familiar with brain boosting Nootropics, then I suggest you read this previous Nootropic article.

The directions for using CILTEP are as follows: 2-3 capsules immediately upon waking on an empty stomach.  This review will cover scenarios where I’ve taken CILTEP on an empty stomach and after a meal to gauge effectiveness and also at different times throughout the day.

Does CILTEP Actually Work?

As I’ve stated before I was looking for a Nootropic to help me overcome mental inertia and increase motivation.  The good news is that CILTEP actually does work, but the effectiveness of it may actually be too subtle for some people.  It doesn’t cause an explosive high or instantly raise your IQ to unify Quantum Physics and Relativity.

It’s effect is more like a rolling snowball, where at first it starts out small, almost unnoticeable, followed by an hour or two later of you working away like a driven race horse.  If there was one sentence with which to describe CILTEP, it would be that ” it makes mental inertia easier to overcome”.  Once you get going, you get moving with this Nootropic.  If you have problems with procrastination I’d recommend CILTEP to help jump-start your motivation.

How Effective is CILTEP?

To get the full power of CILTEP it really is recommended that you take it on an empty stomach.  The days when I’ve taken CILTEP with food I’ve noticed a marked increase in the ramp up time to get motivated (more than 2 hours).  On the days that I have taken CILTEP on an empty stomach, it’s effectiveness was quicker to take effect (about 1 hour) and it seemed more potent.  Your mileage may vary depending on metabolism, internal toxicity levels and diet etc.

Is CILTEP Safe To Take?

I’ve been taking CILTEP for approximately 4 months now and I have not experienced any crashes or negative effects with this product.  But as always consult with your doctor before taking any Nootropics, especially if you are on any medication.

So What is CILTEP Made Of?

Another reason I’m such a fan of CILTEP is that it is one of those rare Nootropics that is all natural. Meaning in the genuine sense it is non-GMO, Gluten free, no artificial colours and no preservatives. The ingredients list of CILTEP is of at the time of this writing is as follows:

  • Vitamin B6 5mg
  • Artichoke Extract 900mg
  • Coleus Forskohlii (Root extract) 20 mg
  • L-Phenylalanine
  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Going through each of these ingredients top to bottom:

The Vitamin B6 has been linked to slowing down cognitive degeneration and preventing heart disease.

Artichoke has been linked to fluid intelligence and the ability to reason effortlessly.  Understanding complicated concepts has also been related to Artichoke use.

Forskolin has been linked to promoting weight loss and increasing memory formation and retention.

Phenylalanine has been linked to increasing motivation, focus and high level thinking.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine has been linked to increasing mental stamina, energy and focus.  It is also known to be a good anti-oxidant for the brain.

If you are just starting to explore the world of Nootropics and are looking for a good introductory Nootropic stack.  I don’t think you can wrong with CILTEP from Natural Stacks.

Brain Booster Review: CILTEP
4.2 35
Pros

No negative side effects with long term use. Helps to get you into the zone.
No "crashes" or "anxiety" effects as with other popular Nootropics.
Long term use is culmalative and beneficial to the brain and it also
uses all natural ingredients.

Cons

Takes a while to feel the effects. The effects can be a little too subtle for some. If taken with food its potency will be drasticly reduced. It is also
fairly expensive and can only be bought online.

Summary

A solid Nootropic stack if you are just starting out. It is safe with all natural ingredients, with no noticable side effects.
